Yardmaster Celebrates Milestone Service Awards at Hobbiton

Yardmaster recently held a memorable celebration that combined a Christmas function with service award presentations at the picturesque Hobbiton venue in Matamata. Known for its inviting ambiance and stunning scenery, Hobbiton set the stage for this special gathering, bringing together the company’s tight-knit team of 30.

This year’s celebration was particularly significant, as eight team members achieved major service milestones. Five of them—Keith Cooke, Shane Omundsen, Colin Rusk, Matt Baird, and Angus McLean—reached a commendable 10-year tenure, having joined the team in 2014. Their dedication and hard work have been pivotal during an essential period of growth for Yardmaster.

Additionally, office manager Sharon Jenkin marked her 20th year with the company, while Seaton Dalley, who started on the shop floor and is now the owner, celebrated 30 years. The evening’s highlight was the recognition of Martin Prescott, who received his 40-year service award, underscoring his extensive expertise in the company’s products and history.

Following a guided tour of the Hobbiton movie set, the celebration continued with a banquet at the Green Dragon Inn, where staff enjoyed an array of dishes in a fun and informal setting. There was plenty of laughter, food, drinks and camaraderie, as the team shared stories and looked back on their journey together. It was a night to remember!

The evening was a joyful celebration of the strong bonds and loyalty that have grown within Yardmaster over the years. It was more than just an awards ceremony - it was a chance to recognise the people who have helped shape the company’s success while enjoying a fun, relaxed event that perfectly matched the company’s welcoming and friendly culture. 

The gathering highlighted that Yardmaster is not just a workplace, but a close-knit community of individuals dedicated to mutual success.
